This playset is a combination of indigenous Australian traditional fishing practices and can be used in a variety ways. Menang Nyungar fish traps have been used in Oyster Harbour WA for up to 6500 years. These fish traps are a circular rock formation that water covers in high tide allowing fish to enter into the rock trap. As the tide goes out larger fish are caught inside the rocks whilst smaller fish escape ensuring sustainable fishing practices. The woven fish trap is used in river systems by placing the trap in between a barrier only allowing fish or eels to enter the trap where they cannot get out these traps are then used to carry the fish to the campground.
